Photo filters - the ins and outs
In the old days of film photography was the only way to achieve many effects in your photos with filters using glass, specialized (or plastic), fitted to the front (or in some cases slots in the back) lens in camera before taking the photo. Fortunately, in the modern digital world still some of these filters are used, and while many of the effects of aging may be reproduced in a fourth dark digital, others still require the photographer do the work previously carried out by processing.
